About the Vehicle
The project will create two 30’ transit vehicles: a fuel cell powered vehicle and a hydrogen fuel internal combustion (HICE) powered vehicle. Both will feature the following characteristics:
- Body - Attractive, futuristic styling
- Propulsion - Self-contained, innovative hydraulic hybrid drive train
- Fuel - Hydrogen created by clean electrolysis
- ADA features - Enhanced accessibility and ride comfort
- Emissions - Meet or exceed 2010 U.S. EPA standard
- Cost - Less than 5 times that of a diesel transit bus
- Reliability - Greater than 90% availability
- Fuel Efficiency - Twice that of a comparable diesel transit bus
