Going Green with Energy...

HyRide will have a fully integrated sustainable energy cycle through the utilization of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power. Electrolysis technology will use solar and/or wind power to generate hydrogen for fuel. This method requires only water and electricity as the inputs to create hydrogen. Other methods, including reformation, require the input of fossil fuels, such as natural gas. Electrolysis was chosen by GNHTD to completely eliminate any dependence on fossil fuel for this program, as GNHTD has set an objective of making this project "all green".

Project goal

To develop, test, and commercialize a hydrogen-fueled transit vehicle in Connecticut.
